Shadow Cabinet
The Democrat Party is always touting they are the party of democracy, and they are the ones that offer unity and bipartisanship. Enough of the hyperbolic rhetoric! They are seriously considering the creation of a “shadow cabinet” in order to scrutinize, challenge, and oppose every initiative and decision by President Trump and his mandate by the majority of American citizens to change the direction our county is heading.
The proposal is to appoint 26 Democratic leaders in Congress to mirror Trump's Cabinet-level officials. Sen.-elect Adam Schiff, D-Calif., for instance, could be a shadow attorney general who would call out Trump's efforts to replace career Justice Department attorneys with those loyal to the president. Or Rep. Gregory W. Meeks, D-N.Y., might be a shadow Secretary of State who would loudly oppose potential action by the Trump administration that would decrease support for Ukraine in its war with Russia.
Is this the democratic system that our founding fathers envisioned or the numerous patriots have died for? I would say not! The way our government was formed and enshrined in our Constitution is the quintessential essence of the checks and balances that those who have discussed this “shadow cabinet” are deliberating about. Our system of government was intentionally created so that Congress writes the laws, the executive branch (the President) enforces those laws, and the judicial branch ensures those laws are constitutional.
Members of the cabinet are nominated by the president and confirmed with the "advice and consent" of the Senate. If there was a “shadow cabinet”, they would not be subject to the “advice and consent” of the Senate, thus creating an absence of constitutional authority. In addition, all members of congress already can voice their objections during legislative debate or public statements to any action or decision made by the President.
Or could this be the back door for the Democratic party to subvert our government? Is this their insurance policy that they were planning when Trump was first elected? The Democrats are saying that this is only a “communication push” in order to put out their so called “positive” message. Could be that or is it just a deploy to get their side in agreement and once they have accomplished that they take a step further in undermining the Trump administration?
I would say the last question is truer than not. Look at how they have manipulated the public when it comes to Trump. First he was “in bed” with the Russians. After many years of exhaustive investigations, the Democrats could not produce any real evidence that confirms this. Then there was the infamous Hunter Biden laptop, that all the Democrats first were saying that it wasn’t his and that it was Russian disinformation. They even went as far as obtaining fifty one former intelligence officials to lie to the American public that this was the earmarks of Russian interference into the presidential election. Now we undeniably know that the laptop was definitely Hunter’s and the files on it were also Hunter’s.
With this in mind, I am in the firm belief that this is more than a communication effort by the Democrats. I believe this is a conscious effort by them to organize a group to encourage the destruction of the duly elected government. In doing so they will be guilty of some of the highest crimes in the United States. They would be guilty of Title 18 U.S. Code §2384 Seditious conspiracy or §2385 Advocating overthrow of Government and should be charged as such. Furthermore, all those that become a member of this group or are affiliated with it, are also committing the same crime.
Going down the path of a “shadow cabinet” because you lost an election, is ill advised and no one who believes in our constitutional republic should take this course of action seriously.
